The Rakkin are a clannish race, most common to the borders of the Devil Imperium, though they can be found anywhere in the galaxy. In appearance, they are very similar to a raccoon, standing at around 4 feet tall. Each clan has a clanlord, who serves as the family leader. The clanlord is quite often of phenomenal size, between 5 and 6 feet tall. Rakkin clans have very intricate laws, especially involving property and vengeance. They are commonly scavengers, and sometimes are willing to part with their finds for the right price. Rakkins also have developed a minor psionic ability to add a bit of extra force to an already powerful strike.
Rakkins are a playable race.
Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age: Rakkins mature slightly faster than humans, maturing around the age of 14. If they live to old age, they can live to be around 65 years old. Rakkin clanlords have been known to live up to 140 years.
Alignment: Rakkins are commonly neutral or unaligned, caring more about their kin than the rest of the galaxy.
Size: Most Rakkins are Medium, being similar in stature to dwarves.
Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Nimble Hands: You take no penalty to skill checks due to armor.
Darkvision: Accustomed to searching and scavenging wrecked ships in space, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, just shades of gray.
Knockdown Strike: When you score a critical hit with a weapon attack, the target must make a saving throw or fall prone. The DC for the saving throw is 8 + the ability modifier used in the attack + your proficiency bonus.
